ジョーカー (pronounced “Jo-ka-“) is a spinoff of my previous painting “Twisted Joker“. In my previous painting, I utilized my artistic license by giving it a crazy, trippy look. In ジョーカー I painted a Little People clown that’s more like a magical court jester with no actual eyes. He holds a staff topped with a head that makes expressions similar to the clown jester. In this painting, I used blue as my shadow color and used black as just a normal color.
ジョーカー was an opportunity to integrate my Japanese into my art by writing out the katakana as opposed to using roman letters. The original painting was done on canvas board using Turner Acryl Gouache for its quality, matte finish, and easy reproduction. I also used a special Ankoku Black, developed by Tuner, which is supposed to be the darkest black they ever developed.

- Glossy – This is a 68-lb (255gsm) glossy photo paper from PPD that produces crisp and colorful results. This is a 10.5mil paper known for its photo quality.
- Canvas – 100% cotton canvas! It is slightly textured and possesses a high inkjet coating that’s designed to produce exceptional reproductions. This surface is also water resistant. This True-Canvas paper is 125lbs (340gsm) with a thickness of 17mil.
All prints are packaged in an archival and acid-free polypropylene bag to protect prints from moisture. Letter-size and 8X10 inch prints also include cardboard backing to prevent the print from being crushed. Smaller 5×7 inch prints are protected by a stiffer cardboard envelope that resists damage during delivery.
