King of Spades art prints is that touch of silliness that you weren’t expecting to love.
In 2020 and 2021, I worked on some production pieces for an ill-fated skateboarding lifestyle company that I helped to found. One of the goals for these paintings was to create works that spoof famous pieces of art using classic kid’s toys. About halfway through the production, I shifted into parodying playing card art. My desire was to create art that had a greater appeal to the skaters. I mimicked the elaborate designs you’d normally see but gave the overall piece a twinge of humor.
My version of the King of Spades features a Little People king picking his nose with his spade-tipped staff.Β The original painting was done on canvas board using Turner Acryl Gouache for its quality, matte finish, and easy reproduction.
